John is Assistant Vice President of the MetLife Innovation Office (Met.IO). In this role, he is responsible for operating of the MetLife Digital Accelerator and managing innovation relationships with strategic venture capital firms. These efforts are both focused on the identification and sourcing of new capabilities for MetLife via high-potential startups.
Prior to joining the innovation team, John was a member of MetLife's IT SWAT group. He served as the Tech Lead for "The MetLife Wall" -- a big data project that consolidated US customer, policy and transaction data across product lines. As Tech Lead, John guided and coordinated strategic decisions and designs across the Engineering, Application Development and Security teams within Global Technology & Operations. John’s tenure at MetLife also includes time in Enterprise Architecture and Investments IT.
John holds a BS in Computer & Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and an MBA from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
